| The perimeter of an isosceles trapezoid is 100, its midline is equal to the lateral side. Find the lateral side. (Notes – midline – FE. Trapezoid AB and DC base, AD and CB lateral)
The perimeter of the trapezoid is: Ravsd = AB + BC + CD + AD = 100 cm.
The middle line of the trapezoid is equal to: EF = (AB + DC) / 2.
2 * EF = AB + DC.
Substitute in the perimeter formula.
BC + AD + 2 * EF = 100.
By condition, AD = BC = EF then 4 * AD = 200.
AD = 200/4 = 50 cm.
Answer: The side of the trapezoid is 50 cm.
