The perimeter of an isosceles trapezoid is 104 cm. Its middle line is 13 cm. Find the side of the trapezoid.

1. Vertices of the trapezoid – A, B, C, D. P = perimeter. MK is the middle line.

2. We calculate the total length of the bases of the trapezoid using the formula for calculating the midline:

BC + AD = 2MK = 2 x 13 = 26 centimeters.

3. P = AB + SD + BC + AD = 104 centimeters.

AB + CD = 104 – 26 = 78 centimeters.

4. AB = CD = 78/2 = 39 centimeters – the sides of the trapezoid.
