The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 12 cm, and the lateral side is 5 cm, find the base of the triangle

As we reliably know from the school curriculum in geometry, the sides in this type of triangles will have the same length.

Let us find out how many centimeters the length of the base of an isosceles triangle will be determined, when from the condition of the task we know that, having a perimeter of twelve centimeters, the length of its lateral side is five centimeters:

12 – 5 * 2 = 12 – 10 = 2.

Answer: Under such initial conditions, the length of the base of our triangle will be 2 cm.
