2. We calculate the length of the sides of a given triangle using the formula for calculating the perimeter:

AB + BC + AC = 16.

AB = BC = (16 – 6) / 2 = 5 cm.

3. The bisector BK in an isosceles triangle, according to its properties, also performs the functions of height and median.

4. Taking this into account, we calculate its length using the Pythagorean theorem:

BK = √AB² – AK².

AK = AC: 2 = 6: 2 = 3 cm.

BK = √5² – 3² = √25 – 9 = √16 = 4 cm.

Answer: the length of the bisector BK is 4 cm.
