| The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 25 cm, the difference between the two sides is 4 cm, and one of its outer corners is sharp. Find the sides of the triangle.
1. Lateral side of an isosceles triangle x centimeters.
2. Let’s determine the size of its base.
(25 – x * 2) = (25 – 2x) centimeters.
3. Let’s compose the equation.
25 – 2x – x = 4;
25 – 4 = 2x + x;
21 = 3x;
x = 21/3 = 7;
x = 7;
Answer: Side x = 7 centimeters. Base 25 – 2x = 25 – 2 * 7 = 11 centimeters.
