The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 26 cm. The sum of the base and side is 16 cm. Find the sides of the triangle.

An isosceles triangle is a triangle in which two sides are equal and are called lateral sides, and the third unequal is based:

AB = BC.

The perimeter of a triangle is the sum of all its sides:

P = AB + BC + AC.

Since the sum of the base of the AC and the side of the BC is 16 cm, we can calculate the length of the side AB. To do this, we find the difference between the perimeter and the sum of the sides of the aircraft and the AC:

AB = P – (BC + AC);

AB = 26 – 16 = 10 cm.

In order to calculate the length of the base of the speaker, we find the difference between the perimeter and the two sides:

AC = P – AB – BC;

AC = 26 – 10 – 10 = 6 cm.

Answer: sides AB and BC are equal to 10 cm; the side of the speaker is 6 cm.
