An isosceles triangle is a triangle in which two sides are equal and are called lateral sides, and the third unequal is based:
AB = BC.
The perimeter of a triangle is the sum of all its sides:
P = AB + BC + AC.
In order to calculate the sum of the sides AB and BC, you need to find the difference between the perimeter of the triangle and its base:
AB + BC = P – AC;
AB + BC = 36 – 10 = 26 cm.
Since the sides AB and BC are equal, then:
AB = BC = 26/2 = 13 cm.
