The perimeter of quadrilateral ABCD is 34 cm, AB = 6 cm, side BC is 2 times

The perimeter of quadrilateral ABCD is 34 cm, AB = 6 cm, side BC is 2 times the size of side AB, sides CD and AD are equal. Calculate the length of side AD.

ABCD – quadrilateral
AB = 6cm
Four corner. = 34 cm

BC = 2 * AB = 2 * 6 = 12 cm
CD = AD = x

Ptriangle = AB + BC + CD + AD
Let CD + AD = 2x

Then we get:
P four corners. = 6 + 12 + 2x
34 = 6 + 12 + 2x
34 = 18 + 2x
34 – 18 = 2x
16 = 2x
16: 2 = x
8 = x

Since we took CD for x, a CD = AD
then AD = 8

Answer: 8 cm
