The perimeter of the ABC triangle is 192 dm2 and the AB side is 21 dm less than the AC side

The perimeter of the ABC triangle is 192 dm2 and the AB side is 21 dm less than the AC side, but 36 dm larger than the BC side. Find the length of each side of the triangle.

1. Let AB be equal to y, then AC is equal to 21 dm + y, and BC is equal to y – 36 dm. All together the sides make up 192 dm. Let’s make an equation, find y:
y + 21 + y + y – 36 = 192,
3y = 192 + 15,
3y = 207,
y = 207/3,
y = 69 dm.
2. Find AC and BC:
AC = 21 + 69 = 90 dm.
BC = 69 – 36 = 33 dm.
Answer: AB is equal to 69 dm, BC is equal to 33 dm, AC is equal to 90 dm.
