| The perimeter of the quadrilateral is 122cm. Side a is 8cm larger than b, 10cm smaller than c and half d. Find the named sides.
The perimeter of the rectangle is: P = (a + b + c + d).
By condition, P = 122, b = (a – 8), (a + 10) = c, d = 2 * a.
122 = (a + (a – 8) + (a + 10) + 2 * a) = 5 * a + 2.
5 * a = 120.
a = 120/5 = 24 cm.
b = 24 – 8 = 16 cm.
c = 24 + 10 = 34 cm.
d = 2 * 24 = 48 cm.
Answer: The sides of the quadrilateral are 24, 16, 34, 48 cm.
