| Let x be the width.
So x + 2.4 – length
The perimeter is found by the formula:
P = 2 * (a + b);
In our case: P = 2 * (x + x + 2.4) = 2 * (2x + 2.4) = 4x + 4.8.
So the perimeter by the condition is 12.8, then 4x + 4.8 = 12.8;
4x = 8;
x = 2.
The area is found by the formula: S = a * b.
S = 2 * 4.4 = 8.8 cm ^ 2.
Answer: 8.8 cm ^ 2.
