The perimeter of the rectangle is: P = 2 (a + b), where a is the length, a, b is the width
Shore length for x, and width x-4, then
16 cm = 2 (x + x-4)
Divide both parts by 2
8 = x + x-4
-2x = -12
x = 6 – length
Hence 2cm width
