The perimeter of a rectangle is calculated using the formula:

2x + 2 * (x – 5.2) = 18.4.
For a further solution, let’s expand the brackets:
2x + 2x – 10.4 = 18.4.
On the left side of the equation, we perform actions with the coefficients of the variable, and transfer the known number to the right side, while changing the sign in front of it to the opposite.
4x = 18.4 + 10.4 = 28.8.
To find the second factor, you need to divide the product by the first.
x = 28.8: 4 = 7.2 cm – length.
Width = 7.2 – 5.2 = 2 cm.
