2. By the condition of the problem, one of its sides is 2 times smaller than the other. Let’s say AB is 2 times less than AD. AD = 2AB

3. To calculate the lengths of the sides of a rectangle, we will use the formula for calculating its perimeter:

P = 2AD + 2AB = 24 cm.

AD + AB = 12 cm.

2B + AB = 12 cm.

3AB = 12 cm.

AB = 12: 3 = 4 cm.

AD = 4 x 2 = 8 cm.

S = 4 x 8 = 32 cm².

Answer: S = 32 cm².
