| Length (a) – 5 dm 7cm;
Width (b) -? cm;
Perimeter (Ppr) = 26 dm.
Spr -? cm ^ 2.
Let’s bring all known values to one unit of measurement:
5 dm 7cm = 57 cm; 26 dm = 260 cm.
The area of the rectangle is calculated by the formula: Sпр = a * b.
The perimeter of the rectangle is: Pпр = (a + b) * 2 = 260, i.e.
(57 + b) * 2 = 260.
57 + b = 260: 2;
57 + b = 130;
b = 73 (cm) – is the length of the other side (width).
Now, knowing the values of both sides of the rectangle, we find its area:
Spr = a * b = 57 * 73 = 4 161 (cm ^ 2).
Answer: the area of the rectangle is 4161 cm ^ 2.
