The perimeter of the rectangle is 84 inches and the width is 18 inches less than the length. What percentage of the length of the rectangle is the width of the rectangle?
1) Find the sum of the length and width of the rectangle.
To do this, divide the perimeter of the rectangle by 2, since it is equal to twice the sum of the sides of the figure.
84/2 = 42 dm.
2) Find the value of the sum of the sides without taking into account the difference.
