The perimeter of the square is 12cm. Two such squares were used to make a rectangle. Find the perimeter of the rectangle.

By the condition of the problem, it is specified that the perimeter of the square is 12 cm; it is also known that all sides of the square are equal. Therefore, in order to find the side of the square, it is necessary to divide the perimeter of the square by 4:

1) 12: 4 = 3 (cm) – the length of the side of the square;

according to the condition of the problem, it is specified that a rectangle was made of two such squares, which means that one side of the rectangle will be equal to 3 cm, the same as the side of the square, then the other side of the rectangle will be equal to two sides of the square, that is, 6 cm.

Find the perimeter of the rectangle:

P = 2 * 3 + 2 * 6 = 6 + 12 = 18 (cm) – the perimeter of the rectangle.

Answer: 18 cm.
