The perimeter of the square is 28 cm. Find the length of one side of it. What is the area of this square?

The sum of all sides of a square is determined by the formula:
P = 4 * a.
Provided that the perimeter is 28 cm, we find the length of such a figure, the second factor is equal to the partial product of the first:
a = P: 4 = 28: 4 = 7 cm.
We calculate the area by substituting the measurement for the formula:
S = a² = 7 * 7 = 49 cm².
