The perimeter of the triangle is 18cm, one of the sides has a length of 1dm, and the other two sides are equal. What is the length of each of the two sides.

1. Subtract the length of the known side from the perimeter, we get the sum of the other two sides of the triangle:
18 cm – 1 dm = 18 cm – 10 cm = 8 cm.
2. Find the length of each of the other two sides by dividing their sum by 2, since they are equal:
8/2 = 4 cm.
Answer: the length of each of the two sides is 4 cm.
