The perimeter of the triangle is 3.4 dm, the length of one side is 1.4 dm, the lengths of the other two sides are equal. Find the lengths of the equal sides of the triangle.

By the condition of the problem, the lengths of the two sides of this triangle are equal, therefore, this triangle is isosceles.
We denote by x the length of the lateral side of this isosceles triangle.
By the statement of the problem, the perimeter of this triangle is 3.4 dm, the length of the base of this isosceles triangle is 1.4 dm.
