The perimeter of the triangle is equal to 640 mm. Find the length of the third side if it is known that the two sides of this triangle are equal to 2 dm4cm.

1. To solve this problem, first we find what the length of a pair of sides of the figure is equal to, each of which is equal to 2 decimetres 4 centimeters:
2 * 2 dm 4 cm = 2 * 24 cm = 48 cm.
2. Let’s express the length of the perimeter in centimeters:
640 mm = 64 cm.
3. Subtract from the length of all sides of the triangle the sum of 2 known sides, we get the length of the third side:
64 – 48 = 16.
Answer: The 3rd side is 16 cm.
