| The perimeter of the triangle NMK is 84 cm. The NM side is 2/3 of the MK side, and the NK side is 4 cm larger than the MK. Find the sides of the triangle.
1. Let the side of MK be equal to y, then NM is equal to 2y / 3 cm, and NK is equal to 4 + y cm. We add all the sides, we get the perimeter of the triangle, we find y:
y + 2y / 3 + 4 + y = 84,
2y + 2y / 3 = 84 – 4,
8y / 3 = 80,
y = 240/8,
y = 30 cm.
2. Find NK and NM:
NM = 2 * 30/3 = 20 cm.
NK = 4 + 30 = 34 cm.
Answer: the sides of the triangle are equal to NM = 20 cm, NK = 34 cm, MK = 30 cm.
