The perimeter of triangle ABC is 140 cm. The sum of sides AB and AC is 98 cm, which is 21 more than the sum of sides AB and BC. Find the lengths of the sides of the triangle.
We have a triangle ABC:
AB + AC = 98 cm
AB + AC + BC = 140 cm
Then BC = 140 – (AB + AC) = 140 – 98 = 42 cm
AC = BC + 21 = 63 cm
Then AB = 98 – 63 = 25 cm
Answer: AB = 25 cm; AC = 63 cm; BC = 42 cm.
