The perimeter of triangle ABC is 60 dm. Side BC is 2 dm less than AB, and side AC is 2

The perimeter of triangle ABC is 60 dm. Side BC is 2 dm less than AB, and side AC is 2 times more than BC find the sides of the triangle.

1) Find out how long the AB side has, if it is 2 dm longer than the BC side, and the BC side is 2 times smaller than the AC side, the perimeter of the triangle is 60 dm. We draw up an equation where:

X – AB;

X – 2 – BC;

2 * (X – 2) – AC;

60 – perimeter.

X + X- 2 + 2 * (X – 2) = 60;

2X – 2 + 2X – 4 = 60;

4X = 60 + 2 + 4;

4X = 66;

X = 66/4;

X = 16.5 dm.

2) Find out what is the length of the BC side if it is 2 dm less than the AB side.

16.5 – 2 = 14.5 dm.

3) find out how long the AC side is if it is 2 times longer than the BC side.

14.5 * 2 = 29 dm.

Answer: AB = 16.5 dm, BC = 4.5 dm, AC = 29 dm.
