The perimeter of a triangle is equal to the sum of all its (three) sides. In our case, one of the sides is already known, and the other two are equal. The triangle is isosceles and we can find one of its sides.
AB = (P – BC) / 2 = (62 – 17) / 2 = 45/2 = 22.5 (cm).
Answer: AB side length is 22.5cm.
