The perimeter of a triangle is the sum of the lengths of all sides of the triangle.
Given: triangle ABC, BC = 17 cm, AB = CA, P = 62 cm, P – perimeter.
Find: AB =? cm.
Solution: P = BC + CA + AB = BC + 2 * AB, therefore AB = (P – BC): 2;
AB = (62 – 17): 2 = 45: 2 = 22.5 (cm).
Answer: AB = 22.5 cm.
