| The perimeter of any geometric figure is the sum of the lengths of all its sides. That is, the perimeter of the triangle is expressed by the formula: P = a + b + c.
The perimeter of the triangle given in the problem statement is: P = AB + BC + AC. We know two values in this formula: the perimeter itself and the length of the side BC.
62cm = 17cm + AB = AC; (now we will transfer all known parts to the left side, and unknown ones to the right)
62 – 17 = AB + AC
45 = AB + AC (since these sides are equal, 45 must be divided by 2)
AB = AC = 22.5 cm.
Answer: 22.5 cm.
