The position of Africa in the hemisphere of the Earth.

Africa is a unique continent, the second largest after Eurasia. The continent is stretched from north to south and lies in several climatic zones – from subtropical to equatorial. Since Africa is crossed by the equator, the continent lies in two hemispheres at once – northern and southern, and the continent is approximately evenly divided by the equator line into two equal parts, although the northern part is slightly larger in area.
