North America is one of two continents that lie completely north of the equator (the second such continent is Eurasia). This means that this continent is located in the Northern Hemisphere. All other continents are either divided into parts by the equator (such as Africa and South America) or located south of it (such as Australia and Antarctica).
In relation to the prime meridian, North America has a western location and is completely in the Western Hemisphere along with South America.
