Ancient Sparta was a rather specific state. There were strict military traditions here. In this connection, the Spartans had the best army in Greece. Their youths studied military science from an early age. On the other hand, Sparta was heavily mothballed due to its rigid traditions and rules. The craft developed poorly here, culture as such (art, music, schools) practically did not develop. All this was in last place in Sparta.
