The radius of the base of the cone is 3 cm and the height is 4 cm. Find the volume of the cone.

Let us determine what the area of the base of our cone will equal if from the condition of the problem we know for sure that the radius of this circle is equal to 3 centimeters:

3.14 * 3 ^ 2 = 3.14 * 9 = 28.26.

As we know from the school geometry course, the volume of a cone can be calculated using a third of the product of its height and base area.

We find out how many cubic centimeters the volume of this cone is equal to, if from the condition of the problem we know for sure that its height is 4 cm:

1/3 * 4 * 28.26 = 37.68.

Answer: 37.68 cm3.
