| 1) Let’s introduce the notation:
the radius of the cylinder base – R = 1;
cylinder height – H = 10;
the area of the lateral surface of the cylinder – S;
cylinder volume – V.
2) The area of the lateral surface of the cylinder is calculated by the formula:
S = 2 * n * R * H,
where n is a mathematical constant (the number “pi”) equal to 3.1415926535 …. In the calculations, we will round the value of the number “pi” to hundredths: n = 3.14.
Then
S = 2 * 3.14 * 1 * 10 = 62.8.
3) The volume of the cylinder is calculated using the following formula:
V = n * R ^ 2 * H,
V = 3.14 * 1 ^ 2 * 10 = 31.4.
Answer: 62.8; 31.4.
