The reaction of aluminum hydroxide with alkalis in solution and in the melt.

The difference between such reactions is that complexes are formed in the solution, and aluminates are formed in the melt.
Solution: Al (OH) 3 + NaOH = Na [Al (OH) 4] (sodium tetrahydroxoaluminate)
Melt: Al (OH) 3 + NaOH = NaAlO2 + 2H2O (sodium aluminate)
