The reasons for the conclusion of the Union of Lublin.

There were several reasons for the conclusion of the Union of Lublin in 1569. The GDL was looking for an ally who could provide assistance in hostilities with Russia. The GDL gentry, small and medium, wanted to receive the same privileges that the Polish gentry had. On the part of the crown, there was a desire to expand their possessions, as well as to strengthen the power of the country in order to be able to fight in the event of an attack by the Turks. The Catholic Church wanted to spread its influence over a larger area.
