The reasons for the creation of the North German Union.

The North German Confederation was created in 1866. There were such reasons for its occurrence:

1) The desire of the German states to unite (attempts to unite were made back in 1848-1849);

2) The desire of the German bourgeoisie for economic unity;

3) The threat from other European states (Austria and France. The latter was the main opponent of the unification of the German lands, which is why it came out in 1870 against Prussia with a war).
