The reasons for the uneven distribution of the population in Africa, examples.
Climate and natural zones. The lowest population density is in desert regions or in the jungle, and the highest is along fertile rivers and where good crops can be harvested. Examples of high population density: Nigeria, South Africa, western Democratic Congo (Kinshasa), southern Mozambique, Nile Delta, northern Algeria.
Another reason is the port cities, where a lot of the population lives in the most real slums. Examples are Luanda, Lagos, Algeria, Casablanca, Dar es Salaam, Accra, Kinshasa, Conakry, Dakar, Douala, Abujan, Maputo.
Low density – Sahara, Sahel zone, Nubian and Kalahari deserts. Country examples: Botswana, Namibia, Chad, Mali, Niger, southwestern Egypt, southern Algeria, most of Mauritania.
Low density due to forests: north of Mozambique, Gabon.
