The unification of peasants into communities contributed to the further development of the state. But while it did not yet exist, labor and other spheres of social life were disorganized. Agriculture developed much better when people lived in communities. You could ask for help, advice; not to be afraid for your life, because it meant some kind of security. Another reason was psychological (as philosophers and thinkers say, the desire to subjugate the will of others and subordinate one’s will to others).
