In the period after the Second World War, the countries that remained in colonial dependence began to take action. This was also facilitated by the change in the alignment of forces on the world stage. Due to the post-war recession in the development of the metropolis, they lost their strength and authority in their colonies. This contributed to the emergence of anti-colonial sentiments in Latin America, Asia, Africa. Due to the inability to control these territories, the metropolis abandoned them.
