The role of lipids and carbohydrates in human nutrition.
Carbohydrates and lipids (fats) are important organic substances that the human body needs. They perform different roles and they are united by the fact that when they are split, a certain amount of energy is released; that is, carbohydrates and lipids have an energetic function. The cells of the body are composed of various carbohydrates and fats – the cytoplasmic membrane, the Golgi complex, EPS and many other organelles are synthesized from these organic elements. They are also necessary for cell division; it turns out that carbohydrates and lipids are involved in the renewal of cells in the human body. Fats can perform a heat-insulating function, storing in the form of subcutaneous fat or liver glycerin. Lipids are able to break down fat-soluble vitamins, and carbohydrates in cells act as sensors.
