The role of the clergy in Lutheranism.

Martin Luther believed that the church should have existed separately from the state. The clergy played a very mediocre role in it. The priest was considered a secular profession, not something privileged. That is, the church was not considered something exalted and was the hands of people, not the Lord. Therefore, the church could not give forgiveness and something that really did not depend on it. Of the sacraments, only baptism and communion existed. In general, Lutheranism condemned enrichment and luxury.
