The perimeter of an equilateral triangle is Pt = 3 * a, where a is the side of the triangle, so Pt = 3 * 24 = 72 cm. The perimeter of the square is 72 cm, the formula for the perimeter of the square is P = 4 * b, where b is the side of the square. We substitute 72 = 4 * a in the formula, then a = 72/4 = 18 cm.
