| An isosceles triangle is a triangle in which the sides are equal:
AB = BC = 85 cm.
In order to find the area of a triangle, we use Heron’s formula:
S = √p (p – a) (p – b) (p – c); Where:
S is the area of the triangle;
p – semi-perimeter (p = (AB + BC + AC) / 2);
a – side AB;
b – aircraft side;
c – speaker side.
p = (85 + 85 + 150) / 2 = 320/2 = 160;
S = √ (160 ∙ (160 – 85) ∙ (160 – 85) ∙ (160 – 150)) = √ (160 ∙ 75 75 10) = √9000000 = 3000 cm2.
Answer: the area of the triangle is 3000 cm2.
