| The side of the rhombus is 11 and the acute angle of the rhombus is 60. Find the length of the smaller diagonal of the rhombus.
In a rhombus, the opposite angles are equal, and the sum of the angles is 360, then the angle ABC = (360 – 60 – 60) / 2 = 120.
Then the angle ABO = ABC / 2 = 120/2 = 60.
In triangle ABD, angle ABD = BAD = 60, therefore, angle ADB 60, then triangle ABD is equilateral and AB = AD = BD = 11 cm.
Answer: The smaller diagonal is 11 cm.
