The significance of the establishment of absolutism for the state.

Absolute monarchy was characteristic of European states at the end of the Middle Ages and early modern times. This form of government assumed the centralization of all spheres of life in the hands of the monarch. Absolutism influenced bourgeois relations and economy. The omnipotent power of the emperor did not allow the development of civil rights and freedoms. People could not take part in governing the state, since there were no representative bodies of power. The monarch completely controlled the processes taking place in the country and did not allow free social thought to develop.
