The similarities between the ancient Egyptian and modern schools.

Similarities:

1) Girls and Boys went to study when they were 7 years old;

2) Studied subjects: grammar, mathematics, reading, music, history, etc.

True, there were also many distinctive features. Nowadays, all children (rich and poor families) study at school. In Egypt, only rich people could afford school. There were no special buildings for schools in ancient Egypt. Instead, lessons were held in scribes’ houses, palaces and temples. The modern school has more subjects and the learning process takes longer.
