As you know, the smallest unit of information measurement is the bit. It is also called the elementary unit of measurement. 1bit is the amount of information contained in a message, which halves the uncertainty of knowledge about something.
Next comes the byte – the main unit for measuring the amount of information.

A byte is a sequence of 8 bits.
A byte is a fairly small unit of information. For example, 1 character is 1 byte.

Derived units for measuring the amount of information
1 byte = 8 bits

1 kilobyte (KB) = 1024 bytes = 210 bytes

1 megabyte (MB) = 1024 kilobytes = 210 kilobytes = 220 bytes

1 gigabyte (GB) = 1024 megabytes = 210 megabytes = 230 bytes

1 terabyte (GB) = 1024 gigabytes = 210 gigabytes = 240 bytes

Remember, the prefix KILO in computer science is not 1000, but 1024, that is, 210.
