The structure and functions of a plant cell, its organelles.

The plant cell differs in its structure and functions from the cells of representatives of other kingdoms. The functions of a plant cell include: nutrition, growth, reproduction, accumulation of nutrients, photosynthesis. The plant cell has a very strong cell membrane that defines its shape and protects it from environmental factors. It has pores through which various substances are transported. The internal environment of a cell is its cytoplasm, in which other organelles are located. Various biochemical processes take place in it. In the center or on the side, there is a nucleus with a nucleolus, which contain hereditary information (chromosomes), and ensure its transmission during division. There is a cavity in a plant cell – a vacuole. It accumulates nutrients, necessary cells, and products of its vital activity. In the plant cell there are special organelles – plastids, they provide the color of the plant. The green ones (chloroplasts) contain chlorophyll, and photosynthesis takes place in them.
