The structure of the cap fungus is a part of the fungus and its functions.

As with any mushroom, the main part of the cap fungus is the mycelium, which consists of colorless filaments called hyphae. During the breeding season, the mycelium forms the fruiting body. In cap mushrooms, it consists of a leg and a cap (hence the name). According to the structure of the cap, they are divided into lamellar and tubular.

What is a mushroom
Cap: Can be shaped in different ways depending on the species and growth stage. It can be tapered, flat, or even spherical. The surface may be smooth, hairy, or carry scab-like fragments, which are usually the remnants of a universal veil, if present. He serves as a wrap-up for his disputes.
Gills: Usually present on the underside of the cap and are composed of many thin layers stacked side by side. Some mushrooms have pores instead of gills. These are tiny tubes packed tightly together to form a spongy layer. Or the underside of the cap may be smooth, wrinkled, or streaked. Whatever form it takes, this is where controversy takes place.
Stem: Some mushrooms do not have a stem. The ring or skirt under the lid is all that remains of the protective cover for the gills, called the veil, which protects the gills when they are young. When the lid expands or grows, the veil breaks, leaving the skirt like a ring on the stem. This can be very obvious in some species and hardly visible in others. There is another type of veil, found in some forms, called the universal veil. This covers the entire mushroom as it emerges from the ground, and as it grows, the veil breaks, leaving behind the Wolf or the cup seen in the above diagram. Remnants of this type of veil may also appear on the top surface of the cap in some species.

The function of the mycelium is to absorb nutrients. The function of the fruiting body is the formation of spores, which mature in the sporangia on the underside of the cap. Thanks to the spores, the mushrooms multiply.
