The structure of the sporophyte of gymnosperms.

Plants with gymnosperms have two cells – a male and a female. The sporophyte grows from the male cell after it has been fertilized by the female cell. In gymnosperms, male and female cells are arranged in pairs in the cotyledon. The sporophyte itself is a sprout from which a large plant, tree, fern will grow in the future.
