| The sum of the lengths of all the edges of the rectangular parallelepiped is 112 cm, its two dimensions are 14 cm and 9 mm. Find the third dimension of the box.
A rectangular parallelepiped is a figure that has 3 spatial dimensions that characterize its dimensions: width, length and height. Each of these values is used 2 times when calculating the sum of the lengths of all edges of a rectangular parallelepiped. Subtracting from the given value twice the sum of two known measurements, you can get twice the value of the third dimension of the parallelepiped.
That is, 112 – (14 + 9) * 2 = 66 cm.
From where the desired third dimension of the parallelepiped is calculated: 66/2 = 33 cm.
